Project Greenlight – REEL FEAR Horror Contest

Project Greenlight (used to be a show on HBO) is holding a contest to help one lucky filmmaker bring their feature horror film to life with a $300,000 grand prize budget and be produced by Clive Barker (Hellraiser, Candyman). We recently submitted a pitch video for submission to the contest. Our film is called, The Beast, which is about a desperate hunt for a murderous elusive creature in the north woods.

After a group of camping teens are found dismembered and gruesomely displayed in the woods near a small town, the mayor hires a hunting party to find and kill whatever did this. Locals report having seen a Beast roaming near their property late at night with everyone describing the Beast wildly different. But one thing is certain in all their minds: it’s no wolf and it’s no man.

Our pitch video was of Braddon Alexander himself pitching his story idea to the camera while a mock-scene plays out through the video. Accompanying the pitch are also images of storyboards and concept art showing the setting, lead characters, and a couple of interesting moments in the film.

It was the first professional pitch for Braddon and it was a great learning experience to plan, write, develop and execute a pitch for a feature length film. Some films that helped inspire the idea for the movie were Jaws, The Thing (1982), The Blair Witch Project, The Witch, and No Country for Old Men.

We had a lot of fun making this quick and dirty pitch video for Project Greenlight. We shot at Seeley Park in St. Francis, MN and the woods were extra spooky. A great fit for the setting of the story to pitch. Huge thanks to the generous cast & crew to lend their time, talent and screams!

Hita & Hill at Minnesota’s 24th Annual Oscar Experience

Once again, Anahita and Hillary killed it as the very gracious and funny red carpet hosts for Minnesota’s 24th Annual Oscars Experience held at the Showplace Icon X movie theater in Saint Louis Park, MN. There is never a dull moment with these two goofballs!

Sponsored by the Twin Cities Film Fest and the Aegis Foundation, the Oscar Experience was a hit with all of the guests dressed up for the special occasion. It was a lot of fun to be able to shoot such excited and outgoing people as they arrived for what was to be a magical evening with the stars.

Working with Anahita and Hillary is such a treat. It never feels like I’m working when on the job with them.

The next event that we will be working together will be “What She Said/by Niche Debut” at W Minneapolis – The Foshay in downtown Minneapolis. For the event, enjoy backstage access and insights while enjoying a free interactive educational panel with dynamic local leaders in Fashion, Design, & Social Media industries sharing business secrets together with the public debut of by Niche, a woman-owned, MN-based global marketing (etc!) firm.

The event will be held on Sunday, March 19th from 1:30p-4:30p and an RSVP is required so be sure to check out the event on Facebook and RSVP!

Dawn Marie – Not Fade Away Music Video

Working with Dawn was a real treat! This was not only Dawn’s first professional music video but also ours. We both were very pleased with the results and had a ton of fun shooting around the Saint Anthony Main, Stone Arch Bridge, and downtown Minneapolis for the location. Accompanying Dawn in the video was Steve Mann, her boyfriend both on and off screen and he nailed it.

The song was “Not Fade Away”, a Buddy Holly cover. We wanted to shoot during autumn not just for the colors but also to fit with the theme of the song. The couple’s relationship was on the verge of fading away until Dawn was able to spur life back into Steve by going out on a date on the town. It goes to show that love begets love and it’s the little moments that we share together that can make all the difference.

We look forward to working with Dawn again on her next music video!
