Working with Dawn was a real treat! This was not only Dawn’s first professional music video but also ours. We both were very pleased with the results and had a ton of fun shooting around the Saint Anthony Main, Stone Arch Bridge, and downtown Minneapolis for the location. Accompanying Dawn in the video was Steve Mann, her boyfriend both on and off screen and he nailed it.
The song was “Not Fade Away”, a Buddy Holly cover. We wanted to shoot during autumn not just for the colors but also to fit with the theme of the song. The couple’s relationship was on the verge of fading away until Dawn was able to spur life back into Steve by going out on a date on the town. It goes to show that love begets love and it’s the little moments that we share together that can make all the difference.
